Louis A. Toth

Senior Managing Director

Louis oversees the investing activities at CIC and is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, coordinating due diligence efforts and assisting in the negotiation and structuring of financial terms for new portfolio investments. He also works with the management of CIC portfolio companies on strategic, business development and operations issues. In addition, Louis collaborates with the various business units of Comcast on issues relating to new services, technologies and start-ups. Previously, Louis worked in investment banking and at a venture capital firm focused on technology and communications services. Louis graduated with honors and holds a MBA from The Wharton School and a MA in International Studies from the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management & International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He also graduated from the Management & Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from The Wharton School and a BS in Materials Science & Engineering from the School of Engineering & Applied Science. Louis is involved as a Director, Board Observer or adviser for BroadLogic Network Technologies, Cedar Point Communications, iControl Networks, Jingle Networks, Ortiva Wireless, RGB Networks, Verivue Networks, and Vitrue.

David B. Horowitz

Managing Director

David focuses his efforts in digital media, advertising, consumer Internet, and other relevant sectors. David also works closely with Genacast Ventures, a seed stage venture fund affiliated with Comcast Interactive Capital. David’s responsibilities at CIC include sourcing new investment opportunities and advising and sitting on the board of CIC portfolio companies. Prior to joining CIC in 2000, David worked in the investment banking department at Bear Stearns, advising clients in the Media & Entertainment sector that included cable, broadcasting, publishing, education, advertising/marketing and Internet/new media, among others. David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with highest honors from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. David serves on the Board of Directors of BlackArrow, JiWire, TidalTV, and Visible World and is involved as an advisor or board observer to a number of other CIC portfolio companies. David was previously involved in CIC's investments in Entropic Communications (NASDAQ: ENTR), Giant Realm (acquired by Burst Media), Invite Media (acquired by Google), Intellon Corporation (NASDAQ: ITLN, acquired by Atheros Communications), Linkshare (acquired by Rakuten), Nuera Communications (acquired by AudioCodes), RF Magic (acquired by Entropic Communications), and XOS Technologies (acquired by JumpTV).

Michael T. Yang

Managing Director

Michael is a Managing Director at CIC based in our Silicon Valley office. He is involved in sourcing, identifying, and evaluating new investment opportunities and is actively part of the decision making process at the fund. Prior to joining CIC, Michael was a Vice President/General Manager at Yahoo! in the Media Group as well as the Local Markets & Commerce Division. During his tenure at Yahoo!, he managed Yahoo! Autos, Yahoo! Real Estate and Yahoo! Health; co-led Yahoo! Shopping; and was part of the team that formed Yahoo!’s strategic alliance with the Newspaper Consortium. Previously, he was a Principal with Atlas Venture, a trans-Atlantic venture capital firm, where he focused on early stage enterprise software and IT investments in New England. Earlier in his career, he served as senior director of product marketing and business development for Zaplet, a venture-backed collaboration software company, and was a member of AOL’s Business Affairs team which focused on e-commerce and interactive marketing partnerships. Michael graduated from Harvard University with an MBA. He also graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from The Wharton School. Michael serves on the Board of Directors of Accolade, Inc. and Carwoo, Inc.

Adam M. Black

Chief Financial Officer

Adam is responsible for the financial reporting of the fund including budget preparation and general ledger management. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Adam participates actively in evaluating potential investments. Furthermore, he assists portfolio companies by performing general control reviews on an as needed basis. Adam joined Comcast in 1996 in the Internal Audit department as a Senior Associate. In this capacity he gained experience in all divisions of the company. Adam assisted in the planning and completion of internal reviews with the goal of providing meaningful real-time feedback to company management. Prior to joining Comcast, Adam was a Senior Associate with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Adam is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Drexel University. Adam serves as a Board Member at Darby Technology Ventures, and a Board Observer at Cedar Point, SoftBank Capital, and Tripwire.

David Zilberman

Principal

Dave joined Comcast Interactive Capital in early 2006 and is responsible for identifying, executing and managing new investments while supporting existing portfolio companies. As an investor focusing on telecommunications and digital media, Dave brings a combination of operational, technical and advisory experience to bear as a board member. Prior to joining CIC, Dave was a business development manager at Flarion Technologies responsible for a variety of corporate development initiatives. Dave played a pivotal role in Flarion’s fundraising activities and ultimate $805M acquisition by Qualcomm. Prior to Flarion, Dave was a communications and media investment banking analyst and asset management associate at Lehman Brothers. Dave holds a Bachelors of Science in Management with a concentration in Finance from Binghamton University. Dave serves on the Board of Directors of BelAir Networks, Ortiva Wireless and SB Nation and is involved in as an advisor or board observer to a number of other CIC portfolio companies including Bubble Motion and Broadsoft.

Sam Landman

Senior Associate

Sam is involved in sourcing and identifying new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on pending investments, and advising CIC portfolio companies. Prior to joining CIC in 2009, Sam worked as the Director of Business Development for The Electric Sheep Company, an Emmy award-winning creator of virtual worlds and social games for major brands and media companies. Prior to joining The Electric Sheep Company, Sam worked as a Senior Associate for Gladwyne Partners, manager of the $515 million Invemed Catalyst Fund. At Gladwyne, he helped originate investment opportunities, analyze investment prospects and advise portfolio companies. Sam holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Bucknell University and received his MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.

Joel Washington

Associate

Joel is responsible for analyzing business plans, conducting business and financial due diligence, and completing market research analysis. Prior to joining CIC, Joel worked at The Boston Consulting Group, where he advised clients on a variety of strategic and operational issues and focused on telecommunications, media, and e-commerce. Joel graduated with honors from Harvard University with a degree in Government and Economics.

Samir Gupte

Associate

Samir is responsible for analyzing and reviewing business plans, conducting diligence of potential investments and analyzing industry research. Samir is at CIC based in our Silicon Valley office. Prior to joining CIC, Samir worked in the Corporate Development Group at Yahoo! where he was involved in the acquisitions of Zimbra and Maven Networks along with various other corporate initiatives. Preceding Yahoo!, Samir was a Senior Analyst at Cornerstone Research where he worked closely with leading academic experts to analyze economic and financial issues arising in business litigation. Samir holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.

Gil Beyda

Genacast Ventures, Managing Partner

Gil is a seasoned entrepreneur turned venture capitalist. Gil launched his first company Mind Games in 1982 to develop games for the original Apple II. Gil then started a software consulting firm with Fortune 100 clients in the U.S., Asia and Europe. In 1995, Gil helped pioneer Internet advertising by founding Real Media, the first online ad network and ad server company. After Real Media was acquired in 2001, Gil pioneered the next wave of online advertising as CTO of TACODA, the first behavioral targeting, ad network. Following AOL’s acquisition of TACODA in 2007, Gil founded Genacast Ventures.

Julian A. Brodsky

Founding Partner

Julian is a founder, Director and Vice Chairman of Comcast Corporation and was Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Interactive Capital. Prior to his election as Vice Chairman, Julian served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Comcast. As the Founding Partner, Julian was responsible for the overall management of the fund. He also acted as the official liaison for the fund to Comcast Corporation. Julian serves as a Director or Board Observer on the Boards of Comcast Corporation, RBB Fund, the National Cable Television Center, Amdocs, Ltd., and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Julian was graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Samuel H. Schwartz

Founding Partner

Sam has overall responsibility for CIC and identifying, evaluating, structuring and managing Comcast's venture capital investments. He also advises the management of CIC portfolio companies and Comcast on strategic and operational issues, developments in the broadband, media, and entertainment landscape, and works to foster partnerships between the broadband industry and entrepreneurial enterprises. Sam has extensive experience working with high-growth technology companies, having served on the Boards of Directors of numerous companies from seed to post-IPO stage. Sam also serves as EVP of Strategy & Development of Comcast Interactive Media, Comcast's Internet division. Prior to joining Comcast in 1999, Sam was a Partner at a venture capital firm focusing on high-growth technology companies. Previously, Sam was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group where he assisted technology enterprises in resolving strategic, financial and operational business issues. Prior to that, Sam managed software development projects for various clients. Sam holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating as a Palmer Scholar, and received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering & Applied Science. Sam serves as a Director or Board Observer on the Boards of Directors of Intellon and Softbank Capital.

Mark A. Coblitz

Strategic Advisor

Mark is Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for Comcast Corporation. His primary responsibility is the development of new business opportunities particularly from emerging technologies. In addition, he serves as the Strategic Advisor to CIC. His extensive experience in the technology sector is a valued resource to the fund. Mark offers guidance on the strategic fit of potential investments with the Comcast family of companies. Mark has served on the boards of Primestar Partners, Teleport Communications Group, Eastern TeleLogic Corporation, and Faroudja Research. He holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Management Science from Case Institute of Technology and is a distinguished graduate of Carnegie Mellon's Graduate School of Industrial Administration.
